ChatGPT now shows sponsored ads to part of its audience. We help brands test the channel with the right strategy, creative and landing pages — and measure whether it earns a place in the media mix.
What are ChatGPT Ads?
ChatGPT Ads are sponsored placements that OpenAI shows inside ChatGPT, below an answer and labelled as sponsored. According to OpenAI, they are matched to the context of the conversation, do not influence ChatGPT's answers, and advertisers do not receive users' conversations. Campaigns are bought through OpenAI's Ads Manager.

Who it's for
- Brands whose customers research purchases in conversations, not just keywords
- Advertisers already successful on Google or Meta who want to test a new channel early
- B2B and considered purchases where buyers compare options before they decide
- Teams that want a clear test plan rather than an experiment without measurement
What usually goes wrong
Search-ad habits don't transfer
A conversational placement appears after an answer. Copy written for keyword ads often reads as an interruption rather than a useful next step.
The landing page breaks the context
Someone arriving from a detailed conversation expects a page that continues it — not a generic homepage.
Unclear measurement
A new channel without clean tracking and a defined test budget produces opinions instead of decisions.
How we work
Fit check
We look at your category, markets and customer questions to decide whether ChatGPT Ads are worth testing now — and say so if they aren't.
Conversation mapping
We map the questions and contexts in which your offer is a genuinely useful next step, and plan campaigns around them.
Creative & landing pages
Concise, helpful ad copy and imagery for the format, plus landing pages that match the intent of the conversation.
Measure & decide
Tracking, a defined test budget and a review against your other channels — then scale, adjust or stop.
What you get
- Channel fit assessment
- Conversation and intent map
- Campaign structure and bidding plan
- Ad copy and image creative
- Intent-matched landing pages

Where ChatGPT Ads stand
OpenAI began showing ads in ChatGPT in the United States on 9 February 2026, to logged-in adult users on the Free and Go plans. Paid plans are ad-free.
A self-serve Ads Manager (beta) opened to US businesses on 5 May 2026. On 24 August 2026 ads expanded across Europe, including Germany, Austria and Switzerland; OpenAI's help center lists the countries where advertisers can use Ads Manager.
Ads appear below the answer, are labelled as sponsored and are visually separated from it. OpenAI states that ads do not influence ChatGPT's answers and that conversations are not shared with advertisers. In the EEA and Switzerland, personalised ads were switched off by default at launch, so ads are matched to the current conversation context.
Details are changing quickly. We check OpenAI's official documentation before every campaign rather than relying on this summary.
Questions
Can you get my brand mentioned in ChatGPT's answers?
Not through ads. According to OpenAI, ads are separate from answers and do not influence them. Being cited in answers depends on having genuinely useful, well-structured content — which we also work on, separately from advertising.
Are ChatGPT Ads available in Germany?
Ads began showing to users in Germany in August 2026. Advertiser access through Ads Manager is rolling out by country — OpenAI's help center has the current list.
How are ChatGPT Ads priced?
Campaigns are bought in an auction through Ads Manager; reported bidding models include cost per click and cost per thousand impressions. Costs depend on category and competition, so we define a test budget before launch.
Should we move budget from Google Ads?
Not by default. We recommend testing ChatGPT Ads with a separate, limited budget and comparing results against your existing channels before shifting spend.
